Race Report - IM 70.3 Kansas

2013.06.13.

The race started well despite the fact that it was only a handful amount of people who I could swim with. Right after the start I caught up on a feet and was able to follow it until the last few hundred yards. I exited the water in 8th position, 3 minutes back to the first big group. It was considered as a good swim for me.

Race preview: IM TX

2013.05.17.

After an early season podium finish at Ironman Los Cabos in March, I had a few weeks recovery and three hard weeks training. Looking forward to race at my best here in Texas. Just like me, my race equipment, my Xterra Wetsuits swimwear, SwiftCarbon Neurogen TT bike, Zoot and Spiuk race apparel is ready and super fast!

2 days to go

2013.05.16.

Easy swim today at the pool, then packet pick-up. The pro meeting was short. "Everything is the same like last year!" I'm glad I did it last year otherwise I wouldn't have a clue. Lots of familiar faces, great athletes. Right now my traditional Hungarian pre race meal is on the stove. Two more days and the show begins!

Wednesday

2013.05.15.

Found this pool in The Woodlands today and had a nice set of 10 x 100 meter. I haven't swam in a 50 meter pool for a long time. It felt like the laps were never ending... Only a few days to go so it's time for a quick massage. Tomorrow is athlete meeting and packet pick up.

Tuesday

2013.05.14.

One of the most important part of the race prep is cleaning the bike, put in the race wheels and make sure that it rides perfect. After a 4+ hour cleaning and preparing it's ready to roll. Fast!

Sunday

2013.05.12.

Easy long ride on the course with Balazs, Greg and James. We rode the whole loop with some short cuts. I was glad that my memory didn't fade away and I remembered the course pretty well. After the ride I run a 10k with some speed work in it. In the afternoon Lucy and I visited our friends in Houston and we had a nice walk in the Japanese Garden. It felt good to relax and spend some time with friends and family.

Saturday

2013.05.11.

Had a great bike strength training at the VR Cycling Studio. 10 x 5 min race pace. In the afternoon I went for a swim. Lucy let me hang on her feet while we swam some fast 50's. Prep for Ironman is going well so far! Very thankful for everyone's support in The Woodlands area.

Friday

2013.05.10.

Had a long run on the course. I can't remember when was the last time I run in the rain. Well, I certainly didn't miss it but I wanted to have this workout done in the morning. It felt good. I'm looking forward to a fast and strong (and less wet) marathon on race day.

Trip to Texas

2013.05.09.

We drove 2 days to my next race venue, The Woodlands, Texas. Overall it was a nice trip. We stayed at Fort Stockton for overnight, discovered the biggest Roadrunner in the World and tasted the chicken fried steak. We reached our destination at late afternoon and had a half an hour swim at the local "Y". Yesterday and today I headed out for an easy ride and an hour run. Compared to Phoenix it is extremely humid here. All my clothes were soaking wet after the first 20 min riding/running outside.

Amazing race in Los Cabos

2013.03.28.

The Inaugural Ironman Los Cabos was an incredible event with a beautiful race venue and with a great organizing team. I have to admit that before the race we had some doubts about the course and if everything would be ready by race morning. But it was a very nice surprise that during the whole day everything was going nice and smooth. The volunteers and race organizers did they best, the course was very well marked, and easy to follow, there were plenty of aid stations with amazing helpers, and lots of enthusiastic spectators along the course. If only some part of the road would be in better condition and less bumpy on the highway. Oh well, nothing is perfect!

Kona race report 2012

2012.10.15.

Ez nem az én napom volt...

I'm ready to put some words down, finally. The race could have started nicely and smoothly, but it started with a few punches on my face instead. Although it was a rough start I managed to catch up to a group. I had a good swim, 5 min faster than last year.

Race week #2

Sunday morning training.

Race week #1

2012.10.08.

Hivatalosan is elkezdődött a verseny hete 1. rész

The last few days went by quickly. Over the weekend I finished with the last long bike and run sessions. I had a good run to the Energy Lab and a nice ride in Hawi. I also had a great long swim in the ocean. It was a little choppy but a good practice for the race. The rest of the Hungarian Team has arrived too, after a long and challenging trip. Tomorrow will be the Parade of Nations and the race week officially begins.

It was a busy day

2012.10.06.

After one day acclimatization everything went back to the normal routine.

On the Queen K again

2012.10.04.

The first day was nice and easy. Even if it was a short trip, coming from Arizona (shorter than flying from Europe) I still needed some acclimatization time.

Aloha!

redRockco: In It to Win It -- Catching up with the Nathan Tempe Triathlon Champions

2012.09.27.

Pro triathlete Jozsef Major recently returned to Arizona after spending the spring and summer hopping from one Ironman competition to another around the country, from Texas and Kansas to Rhode Island and Syracuse, N.Y. (to name a few), before placing third in the U.S. championships in New York City in August. We're glad he's back.
